How long have you worked here?
The 2012-2013 Season is my 13th season at Mount Peter.

Ski or Snowboard?
Both. I like both but prefer snowboarding.

Where did you learn to ski?
I learned to ski at Mount Peter when I was a little kid and then later, I learned to snowboard here.

What is your favorite Mount Peter memory?
Meeting my husband, of course! We were both Mountain School, it was called ski school then, Instructors.

Well, yeah, you could say that.

What's something most people wouldn't know about Mountain School?
There is a ton of family in the Mountain School here at Mount Peter. Moms and daughters. Brothers and sisters. Dads and sons. All instructors. In fact, I sent two brothers out the other day for a lesson taught by two brothers!

Final thought?
My kids are going to ski and ride here at Mount Peter!

Happy New Year! Let the Season Begin!

Mount Peter is open! The weather has been cold and we've been making snow! Add a few inches from Wednesday night's storm and we have a nice 10 to 24 inch base for skiing and riding. The weather reports are telling us we are in for another 4 to 6 inches on Saturday. So, pack up your gear and come out for some winter fun!

Mount Peter is the perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard. We offer free beginner lessons on weekends and holidays so there will be free lessons 12/26 to 1/1/13 at 10am, noon and 2pm. We also offer private lessons and full equipment rentals.

Come join us for the start of the 2012-13 season!

Opening Day is December 26th!!!
Mount Peter will be open on Wednesday December 26th, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. We will be skiing and riding on upper rim and lower rim, on a machine groomed packed powder surface, using Hailey's Comet to get us to the top on opening day!
For opening day, tickets will be $10 off, and our famous free beginner lessons will be at 12 and 2.
Race camp will begin at 10 a.m.

Great Season at Mount Peter!

Despite the less than cooperative weather, we had a great season at Mount Peter! Mother Nature owes us a REAL winter next year. Be prepared with a season pass! Get yours before March 31 and you will receive two free lift tickets for each season pass you buy! More info on this sweet deal can be found on our website.

Fun for All at 3rd Annual Winter Carnival!

Mount Peter's Third Annual Winter Carnival was held on Sunday, February 26, 2012. 

Family friendly games, prizes, carnival treats, music and a magician made for an awesome day at the mountain.

All Winter Carnival proceeds support Team Mount Peter in the Avon Walk for
Breast Cancer. Team Mount Peter has donated almost $30,000 in the last three
years.

Winter Carnival began at noon with DJ Jay Bird's awesome sounds and carnival fun such as water balloon toss, monkey toss, bottle stacking, face tattoos, obstacle course and other games. Max the Magician mystified all ages from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. 


In addition to our regular menu, carnival favorites including pop corn, cotton candy, snow cones and funnel cakes added to the festive atmosphere. 

For the adults, there was a beer race (ski down the mountain with two full
cups, person with most left in their cup at the bottom, wins), Pete's Place
Tavern specials all day and fresh BBQ pulled pork and chicken platters.

Prizes included VIP Tickets, food items, Mount Peter souvenirs and more. All that fun PLUS the best snow conditions in the area for everyon's skiing and snowboarding pleasure!

Located about an hour from New York City, Mount Peter mountain has 100% snow making capability and we make snow whenever the weather permits. Currently, we have a 15 to 70 snow base with another storm scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday!

All week long we will be offering FREE beginner lessons at 10am, Noon and 2pm. 
We are also open Holiday hours at Holiday Rates.
